Installing the AquaTopper
There are two ways to install the Aquatopper :
- Quick install above ground with no skills needed.
- Professional installation into your pump room.

FITTING THE LEVEL SENSOR

STEP 1
LORA GATEWAY
The gateway is attached to your home wifi and communicates with the two products.
Connect the gateway to a USB power source and then follow the instructions to hook the gateway onto your home wifi.
The level sensor and tap valve will then communicate via the gateway to our severs.
STEP 2
LEVEL SENSOR
The level sensor is located in the skimmer of your pool. A bracket is supplied that you put the sensor into and then position it on the bottom of the skimmer basket.
STEP 3
TAP VALVE – Simple install above ground
The tap valve is connected to your garden tap. Using the push fit connections you then connect your hosepipe to the valve and run this to the edge of your swimming pool.
PUMP ROOM – Specialist install
Your pool maintenance professional will be able to install the valve into the current pipework to ensure the device is hidden away and feeds directly into the swimming pool. There are 3 ways to install into the pump room, schematics are below.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I am a pool cleaner, how does this benefit me?
As a Pool Cleaner you will arrive at your customer’s property and whilst cleaning the pool will need to top the pool up manually. In most cases you will have cleaned the pool before the water has finished topping up. This means you have to go off to do other jobs and then return to turn off the water feed. The Aquatopper gives you the ability to control the water level from your phone and will automatically stop when the level has been reached. This saves you time and fuel costs revisiting properties. You can also have multiple devices on one account.
I live in my property, how does this benefit me?
We have all done it more than once…..left the tap running whilst filling up the swimming pool! Using the Aquatopper means that you will never have to worry during those summer months about topping up the pool, just make sure the hosepipe is pointing into the pool and the Aquatopper will ensure that you don’t have to worry about this job again.
Can I have more than one device on my account?
Yes you can so if you have several customers spread over a large area they can all be on one account.
I do not have wifi coverage at my pool, can I still use the AquaTopper?
Yes you can, the only thing that has to be within your wifi coverage is the gateway. The two devices use LoRA which is a long distance low power signal. The devices can be up to 500m away.
Will I be notified when the hose pipe starts running
Yes you will receive a notification via your app when it starts and stops.
What happens if there is a power cut whilst the pool is filling?
If the tap valve does not receive communication from the gateway within 15 minutes it will automatically close so you will not be in a situation where the pool keeps filling up.
What happens if I lose wifi whilst my pool is filling?
If the tap valve does not receive communication from the gateway within 15 minutes it will automatically close so you will not be in a situation where the pool keeps filling up.
Do I have to have the hosepipe running towards the pool all of the time?
Yes you do unless you have an underground pipe that is already in situ. There is normally always an area around the pool that you do not commonly use where you can position the hosepipe so it is not in the way.
How long do the batteries last?
The batteries will last for at least 5 years. Both devices only send and receive signals once every 15 minutes meaning that the battery life is extended. The batteries can be changed in the future.
Can I use this on my holiday home even though I am not there much?
Yes you can use it from anywhere in the world via the app on your phone. Better still if you are overseas and you keep getting notifications that the device is active this could be a warning that you have a leak and could save you a lot of money replacing the water and get someone to have a look before you arrive at your holiday home.
Can I switch off the device remotely or put it in manual mode?
Yes you can. Using the app you can change the settings and levels anytime. You can also put it into manual mode if you want to top up the pool a little more or stop it altogether.
I am a pool cleaner and want to do a backwash before I arrive at the pool.
If you need to do a backwash, sometimes you can turn up and find that the water is too low to start the backwash. You can see the level of the pool before you arrive and if necessary manually top up it prior to getting to that property.
What happens if I remove the level sensor, will the top up run?
When the level is below 20% the tap valve will not open. This means that if for example a child removes the level sensor you won't have the top up running. If you need to open the valve then you can do that manually via the app
I don't want a hosepipe running to my pool, what can I do?
You can ask your pool maintenance professional to install the tap valve into the pump room. You can find more information HERE.
